Intensive In-Home Services is based upon the belief that families can, through intervention, learn to nurture their children, improve their functioning, and gain support within their community to enable the family to remain safely together.
Sometimes all it takes to create a lasting impact for families is the right guidance and the courage to change.
Intensive In-Home Services is a 4 to 6 week crisis-intervention program designed to help keep families together safely. It is a short-term, home-based, crisis intervention service offering families in crisis an alternative for remaining together safely, and averting out-of-home placement of children whenever possible. The program combines skill-based intervention with maximum flexibility so that services are available to families according to their unique needs.
A family specialist works directly with family members in their home 8 to 10 hours a week for 4 to 6 weeks. The specialist will help the family learn techniques to be successful. Services are family-centered and based on assessed needs. The safety of the children in the home is continuously assessed.
