Self-Injury Day Services and Counseling Program

Overview

For families supporting a child or children with self-injury issues, the immediate dangers of self-harm are very real. That’s why Great Circle provides two programs dealing with these issues: Self-Injury Counseling Services and Self-Injury Day Treatment.

Program Details

Self-injury is an escalating problem for teens. Research indicates approximately 18% of high school and college students have engaged in non-suicidal self-injury.

Counseling Services

Our 12-week program is available to youth who reside in St. Louis County or are under St. Louis County Court jurisdiction. The program is centered on individual and family therapy for adolescents struggling with self-injury. The program runs after school hours and on weekends, based on the needs of a family. Youth will participate in individual and family therapy sessions, as well as group therapy sessions for the adolescents, plus a multi-family educational group weekly.

Day Services

Our 12-week day services group program is for youth who are uninsured or under-insured and currently engaged in non-suicidal self-injury. Youth will participate in group therapy sessions, skills-building activities & exercises, family therapy sessions and family education groups.
